Are there arts and crafts activities on Rousay?
The Crafthub SCIO supports arts and crafts on Rousay, with community workshops and events. Activities depend on the programme, so check current dates and whether booking is needed before planning a visit. This guide points you to the local contact and information.
The Crafthub SCIO
The Crafthub SCIO, at The Space on Rousay, offers community arts and crafts, workshops and events. The programme and opening dates vary, so they’re the best people to ask about what’s on while you’re here.
You can email info@crafthuborkney.com about sessions and bookings. They can also explain who each workshop is for, what access is like and which materials are supplied.
Your own writing or art
If you’d like time to write or make art, you’ll find space for your own work at either cottage. There’s always something different in the light along the coast.
Our creative retreat guide has more about the cottages and longer stays. You’ll be working on your own; we don’t provide courses, teaching or a separate studio.
A few more questions
Do I need to book a workshop?
The Crafthub can tell you what’s on and which sessions need booking ahead.
Are workshops included with a cottage booking?
No, workshops are booked separately. The cottages also suit independent creative stays.
